What’s so great about Caricatures?
Candies last a few minutes and pens run out of ink. Caricatures are cherished because they commemorate this one great moment. They’re hung on walls for years. Before that, they’re vigorously shared online and in person. With your logo and information on each one, you can guarantee your company will be remembered well for years.
Live event caricatures are the easiest way to make your next holiday party unforgettable. They’re a sure way to guarantee a great time for those who get a drawing or those who only want to enjoy watching the caricature sketches come to life. Adding live art like this is part of the entertainment as much as it provides that special gift.
Booking a Caricature Artist
You don’t have to be a party planner to book a sketch artist for your next company party. Knowing a few things about how live artists work at events can help, so here’s so tips on wow caricatures artists work
- We come with our own equipment – every artist works differently, so both their art and equipment will be different. Some use just a clipboard to draw on. I use an easel, board and draw on paper that’s a typical frame size. I bring chairs. A well lit area is needed. I do have a ring light that needs to be plugged in.
- Caricaturists come early to set-up. I generally am there 30 minutes early.
- We draw within the specified time you book us for. We draw as many people as we can within our booking period. The general rule is to draw a person in ten minutes or less.
- Some Caricature Artists create Digital Drawings like me. I offer both digital and traditional live sketch art.
- For the caricature artist, it can be super personal. We get to know the people we’re drawing. We ask questions about their hobbies and their life to include in their sketch.
- Each live artist provides the finished drawing differently. They’re often rolled up. I provide them in clear bags with backing to protect your art, and so you can continue to admire it.
Things to note!
Not everyone wants their drawing done. We have to look at people to draw them. Some are uncomfortable with too much eye contact or attention on them.
People love watching art come to life.
It’s a social experience to watch co-workers and friends have their portrait drawn. They tease each other, and often the artist. “His nose isn’t that big!” and “She doesn’ t have a mustache.”
Every artist has their own unique style. Most are quite cartoony, exaggerating one or two features. Some exaggerate a lot.. Mine are more like quick but silly marker portraits.
The best professional artists get booked quickly. Contact the caricature artists whose work you like months in advance of your company Christmas party, or Holiday event with questions about rates, added services and availability. They’ll be getting booked by September for November and December events.
