Why: Art is better when shared—

I’m so excited to announce that, performing at 1 pm, Canadian cellist and singer-songwriter Alyssa Wright will grace the BAC gallery. She combines the soul of jazz with the technical facility of her classical training, constantly pushing boundaries both real and imagined.  As both a soloist and a chamber player, she has performed everything from Continuo realizations to Led Zeppelin covers, in venues from Massey Hall to the Banff Centre, Canso’s Stan Rogers Folk Festival to a theatre concert with bass demi-god Victor Wooten on Gabriola Island. Formerly Acting Principal Cellist of the Kingston Symphony and long-time member of the Amity Trio, Alyssa is currently active as a collaborative artist, session and studio musician, and theatrical performer. And she’s playing for us!

I believe unity is our greatest weapon against fear, so I create art that reminds us we are more powerful together. Featuring a collection of original paintings celebrating Mother Nature and the Wood Wide Web—the intricate network of roots and life beneath the forest floor—this exhibition invites you to witness the dynamic forces that shape our world.

Join Alyssa and I, and step into the world of nature’s most powerful forces. Together we can explore the deep connections between the environment and the unseen, interconnected world around us.

A percentage of sales from Linda’s tree paintings will go to Living Green Barrie in support of their extensive tree-planting campaigns – we’re going to need a lot of that!.
