How to Increase Accuracy in Your Art – Day 2

February 26 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
online drawing workshop, increasing the Accuracy in Your Art

Learn a Clear, Step-by-Step Method to Accurately Drawing What You See

2 Day Workshop – Runs Thursday Feb 19 & 26

A clear, step-by-step method for gaining accuracy in your art, so you draw what you see.

Perfect for beginners and experienced artists who find themselves struggling to get the details right. Our brains are wired to turn detailed images into simple icons. That’s what messes up our art. Learning the techniques to get what we see onto your canvas or paper is a quantum leap. So let’s take that leap together!

These online workshops cover the main methods to accurately find your subject on paper or canvas. You’ll be able to get what you see from a photo into your art. The focus will be on outlining the details, so you don’t waste time adding value or colour only to discover it’s all wrong.

What You’ll Learn in this art Workshop:

  • Details about drawing materials.
  •
A sequential method that works for drawing anything – not just portraits.
  • Basic intro to value to capture light and shadow and make a portrait appear 3-dimensional.
  • Methods of measuring and sighting that help you understand the proportions of your subject and help you identify and solve problems.
- How to use “squinting” to understand the value relationships on your subject and in your drawing.
  •
Portraiture – How to draw natural-looking facial features through understanding the major structural characteristics of the eyes, ears, nose and mouth.

Art supplies needed:

  • Drawing Pad – no smaller than 9” x 12”
